It's Christmas so I’ve been
thinking about hangovers.
They aren’t very respectable,
are they?
It’s okay for the little
people to over indulge, but as you get older society becomes more
prudish and expects a more responsible attitude.
I began to think about what a
hangover is, and it came to me that perhaps I wasn’t suffering from
hangovers at all.
Perhaps – this being the 21st
Century and bearing in mind I am a hypochondriac – it's an allergy.
Think about it.
Do you wake up in the morning
with red and bloodshot eyes? Do you find your hands shake? Do you
awake with headaches, tiredness, a dryness of throat and tongue?
After taking booze do you become lethargic?
Well - to me it’s obvious, and I
think even a cursory examination of the main Medical resource of the
day, the Internet, will confirm – you are allergic to alcohol!
An allergy is so much more
acceptable.
All the best people have
allergies but I think you'll be hard put to find one of them with a
hangover – and judging by the number of important people who talk
about their allergies, they make you interesting too! A real
bonus in my book.
Get an allergy and you can be
both important and interesting.
